20 Ways to Be a Successful Real Estate Agent

 This guide is helpful to any self made contractor striving to be successful.

1.      Make a Business Plan

2.      Set yearly goals.
       A) For short term, year goal.
       B) Long term,  5+ year goal.

3.      Get a company Email other than a private one .IE (yahoo, gmail)

4.      Answer every available phone call that comes in. (Even if you do not recognize the number).

5.      Wear your name tag (Everywhere: Coffee Shop, Store, Kids School, Park).

6.      Be spontaneous when entering a conversation.

7.      Create a blog spot on the web. Then Blog minimum once a week, but strive for daily.

8.      Keep up to date with classes offered by your broker, MLS, Title Companies, NAR, or anyone else who is certified to teach classes.

9.      Find a specialty that you find interesting to you

10.  Get involved with your community

11.  Get connected with as many business networks you can find. IE : Google+, Facebook, LinkdIn, Blogging, ActiveRain

12.  Write a thank note to each client you have worked with, and start a file to send out birthday cards and anniversary cards.

13.  Always keep a positive attitude. Even when you feel not yourself, you NEVER want that to show through to your client/customer.

14.  Associate with positive people

15.  Never assume the other agent will take care of the transaction, and always stay ontop of your time line. You do not want to be the one to drop the ball.

16.  Require a pre-approval. Without the approval, your just wasting you time.

17.  Get a buyer agency contract if you feel you’re going to need one.

18.  Initiate 5 phones calls daily, and 5 emails daily.  

19.  Do not wait for people to come to you.

20.  Keep all your clients in your contact file system, even if you have finished a transaction with them.
